I created Streethike with my partner in life and business; Heidi
Thomasen. We love our city and look forward to sharing it with
you. Born in the centre of the country at the ass end of the
baby boom, part Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Austrian, Jew (maybe),
and a shot of Scottish. I am an Eastern European mongrel, common
in Prairie Provinces of Canada (cross pollination is popular
in this cold climate). I quit the Canadian Pacific Railway after
ten years of service and moved to Vancouver in 1989 to become
a Broadcast Journalist. Was booted from the program after one
year, though. During those summers I worked as a camping Tour
Guide in the Canadian Rockies and the National Parks of the
Western United States. Terrified at the time, I was shocked
to discover I loved people and took immense pride in sharing
my beautiful country and also some of the most breathtaking
parts of the USA. After surviving the trauma of not becoming
a world famous News Anchor, I built a very exciting and fulfilling
career in film. To this day I continue to make my living as
a Locations Manager, finding and supervising locations for film,
commercials and TV shows.

Thomasen Burns- Operator/Guide
Compassion, commitment and hard work; her heart, leads the day.
Judging herself by standards no human could achieve. She is
a fierce advocate for environmental, spiritual, and physical
health. Heidi Thomasen has lived in pursuit of the ideal that
people can make a difference. Planting trees, volunteering for
charities, practicing or teaching Yoga. A brilliant photographer,
student of design and textiles, an organizational dynamo and
committed minimalist. Heidi was born in Vancouver of Danish
and English ancestory (no, she doesn't speak Danish; maybe you
could teach her some). Heidi loves travelling, almost as much
as she loves kids. She is the driving force behind Streethike
and its plan to reach all parts of the world.
